By using Phylodex you agree to these plain-language terms. Phylodex is operated by Davis Franklin LLC.

Your uploads. You are responsible for the media and metadata you upload — including that you hold the necessary rights, that it is accurate, and that anything you publish complies with applicable laws and the rights of others. Do not upload content you do not have a legitimate reason to store or share.

Your account. Keep your sign-in credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account, except where we have clearly failed to provide reasonable security of the service itself. Sign-in is by email and password.

AI suggestions are advisory. The species-suggestion feature uses an automated AI model and may be wrong. Suggestions are aids, not authoritative identifications; you are responsible for verifying any species determination before relying on or publishing it.

Third-party services. Phylodex relies on third parties to operate — including Supabase, Vercel, Stripe, OpenAI, Mapbox, and Sentry — and their availability and terms are outside our control. See our Privacy Policy for what data each receives.

Subscriptions and billing. Paid features are billed through Stripe according to the plan you select. Fees, renewals, and cancellations follow the checkout and customer-portal flows Stripe provides, subject to any plan terms shown at purchase.

Acceptable use. Do not misuse Phylodex — for example, do not attempt to break security, overload the systems, scrape in ways that harm the service, or use the product for unlawful harassment or distribution of illegal content.

Availability and disclaimer. Phylodex is provided “as is,” without warranties. We work to keep your data safe and the service running, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Keep your own backups of media that matters to you.

Service changes. We may update the product and these terms over time. Material changes deserve clear notice where practical; continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
