About Phylodex

Phylodex is a home for your wildlife photos, organized by species like a field guide. Every species you photograph gets its own page, private until you share it. When you’re ready, Phylodex makes your photographs into a Phylodex Folio: a hardcover book of a trip, a year, a place, or everything you’ve seen.

It’s made for photographers, birders and naturalists who want a calm, trustworthy place for their field work, not a social feed.

Phylodex on your phone

Add Phylodex to your phone from the browser. It opens like an app.

iPhone

Open phylodex.com in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen.

Android

Open phylodex.com in Chrome and tap Install (or ⋮ → Install app).

Without signal

Your starred photos and ▶ Show still work. Phylodex saves them to this phone each time you open Favorites online, and keeps them until you sign out. Everything else needs a connection.

Data sources

Bird taxonomy and names follow eBird/Clements. All other species — mammals, reptiles, amphibians, fish, insects, plants, fungi, lichens and more — come from the Catalogue of Life. Which species are included, and how search ranks them, is based on photo and video observations shared through GBIF. Every source, with its licence and citation, is on Data sources.

Phylodex is operated by Davis Franklin LLC.
